We come to your location to perform the collection and ensure samples are properly handled and sent to certified laboratories. Who's Tested? The DOT drug testing requirements apply to safety-sensitive employees, which includes, but is not limited to: Commercial drivers Pilots Railroad conductors Pipeline workers Ship captains and crew members The DOT drug test screens for the following substances: Marijuana (THC) Cocaine Opiates (morphine, codeine, and heroin) Amphetamines and methamphetamines Phencyclidine (PCP) DOT drug tests have stringent procedures in place for: Collection of samples (typically urine) Chain of custody (ensuring the sample is handled properly and cannot be tampered with) Testing of samples (using approved laboratories) Review of results by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) to ensure accuracy and consider any legitimate medical explanations for positive results Types of Tests: Pre-employment Testing: Before hiring for a safety-sensitive position. Random Testing: Unpredictable, unannounced testing throughout the year. Post-Accident Testing: After certain types of accidents.
